It is the primary objective of eAngel to match gift donations with the needs of specific non profit organizations. eAngel enables individuals and institutions to contribute “in kind gifts” and other donations to non profits. You are invited to browse eAngel. Otherwise, donors can proceed in making a donation and non profits may receive a donated gift by simply registering. All non profits and donors will be asked to complete a simple report card to rate the process of exchanging each donation. This will include a rating of donor and non profits, in addition to the overall experience. The historical ratings of all eAngel participants are available for review by eAngel-registered users and future participants. This reporting system intends to preserve the integrity of the eAngel matching process. eAngel will also provide a record of gifts received and donations given by non profits and donors respectively. The history of transactions will be accessible online by all eAngel registered users and updated accordingly. eAngel evolved through a dedicated effort to help people who are less fortunate. It is an answer to a calling that was shared by many throughout the church community; a calling to fulfill the wish list needs and other requirements of non profit organizations within the Chicago area. The eAngel solution is a direct response to the private sector request for assistance in the giving process. This demand for assistance is attributed to the growth in individual philanthropy, which represents the greatest source of private sector giving for non profits; far exceeding foundations and institutions. The dream of eAngel crystallized over a twelve year period as people came together through a tradition of "in kind" giving. It was recognized that an online facility could provide a vital philanthropic link between the donor community and the non profit sector. Through eAngel we can not only fulfill the non profit wish list requests by coordinating the reallocation of donor resources, but we can also fulfill the most human need of all; serving other people. This could not be achieved without the exemplary leadership of people within the non profit community; providing guidance that is essential to the networking success of eAngel. It is these people who work with the eAngel board, who represent the board of directors, and who are collectively responsible for the development of eAngel. Finally, we must also acknowledge the entire donor community for its extreme generosity and overall support. Through the efforts of all people involved in the giving process it is our hope to bridge cultural groups by uniting people and communities throughout the world.
